Wendy's and the Park

Our Monday got exciting when Poppy called and invited us on a lunch date to Wendy's! Ella Jae and I love little outings that aren't planned. It puts such a pep in our step especially when a little one is still not feeling 100%!

Then we came home for naptime and then headed to the new Library Park right near our house afterwards. I got so excited when I saw the city was re-vamping the Library Park and couldn't wait to take E! I used to go there when I was little and they hadn't updated it since until recently. I had taken E there a few times but it was more for big kids. The new park is so much fun and so much more little kid friendly! There weren't any swings but hopefully they are coming soon. Ella Jae had so much fun and made some new friends! I have actually planned her 2nd Birthday Party there next month and I got some great ideas from visiting yesterday.

We had a very happy marvelous Monday! Hope y'all did, too :)

We had fun on Sunday celebrating Davis' 3rd birthday! He had a Cars birthday party! Ella Jae had so much fun! She loves singing "happy birthday" and is just tickled everytime she gets to for someones actual birthday! She loved on Davis and kept telling him happy birthday and was even so kind to help him open his gifts ha!

Adam loves Seinfeld! Unless I have a show I want to watch at night, he watches Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens, or Seinfeld. When I found out Jerry Seinfeld was coming to Augusta, I knew I had to get him tickets. I got them as his Christmas gift and I was so excited about it because he is so hard to buy for and never asks for anything, so I knew he would be thrilled. I got the tickets and a few weeks before Christmas he said, "do you know Jerry Seinfeld is coming to Augusta?" And I said "yea, I think I heard that..." Well.........he then proceeded to tell me that his friend Graydon wanted to go as well and what did I think about getting tickets together..............bummer..............so I had to tell him that I got the tickets and it was his Christmas gift. I was kinda sad but then when I saw the look on his face, it made it worth it :) We still ended up going with Rebecca and Graydon, but just not sitting together. We met at Zaxby's before dinner and headed to the arena to see Jerry!

We had such an awesome time and ofcourse Jerry did not disappoint! He even came out after his finished up and answered all kinds of questions from the audience. He is such a cool guy! We laughed so hard, and I ofcourse laughed at the things no one else laughed at...so typical! So happy Adam enjoyed his Christmas gift! Hopefully I can keep the tradition going and get him a super fun gift like a stand up/concert/game ticket each year :) We'll see!!

Sickly little muffin

Ella Jae has not been sick since she got her tubes a year ago almost to the day. She has had maybe 2 runny noses only from teething. But the past weeks, some type of bug hit our family and got to E, too :( We had a sleepless night and spent the whole day in our jammies watching Dora, Mickey and lots of Gabba.

{Wedding Day}

We started Erica's special day by me picking her up and meeting the rest of the girls at Starbucks! Then we headed to the salon to get our hair done. We had a great time helping one another with hair and make up! Erica was so calm, I just couldn't believe it!

After the salon, we headed to the Church to get dressed and take pictures. First us girls got dressed and then we helped Erica get ready! She looked like a princess although bless her heart, when we put her into her dress just got really dizzy when we zipped her up so we all fanned her, brought her water, and she even cautiously stuck her head out the window to get fresh air, fortunately, we kept our eyes peeled for the groom!

The ceremony was so beautiful! The altar couldn't have been more perfect. It was such a fun and relaxed ceremony! We even danced down the aisle during the procession :)

Ella Jae was the sweetest flower girl I've ever seen! She walked down the aisle holding my hand. She did so great! She acutally stopped when we got to rows with people but only for a second and then I handed her off to Daddy, Memmy, and Poppy where they bribed her with lots of candy canes :)

The reception was so much fun! We had a blast! I danced and danced and finally when I sat down, I couldn't get up ha! I guess that is what cuttin' a rug will do to ya when you are 26 weeks preggo ha!

The flowers, the cake, the decor, and ofcourse the bride and groom were so beautiful! I couldn't have imagined Erica's special day being any more perfect!!

So happy and blessed Ella Jae and I got to be a part of your special day, Erica! Thank you for choosing us! We wish you and Josh a lifetime of happiness! Love you, Mr. & Mrs. Neal!

{Rehearsal Dinner}

The Rehearsal was at the Church and was followed by the Rehearsal Dinner at the Red Pepper Cafe.

The Red Pepper is a newer eatering and is so neat! They have an outside patio where musicians play each night and it is so nice! The Rehearsal Dinner was held in an events room inside and was so wonderful! We all had a great time mingling together and celebrating the bride and groom to be, and not to mention the food was awesome!

I am so excited to be back to blogging and didn't want to miss the chance at linking up for

Here's what I'm loving this week...

I'm loving that we are going on our annual hayride tomorrow at Christmas on Breezy Hill with the family! And we are also going to the Festival of Lights on Saturday!

I'm loving Tastefull Simple Potato Cheddar Soup! We had it last night for dinner with ham and cheese paninis! All you do is add water and it is seriously the best EVER!!

I'm loving that we picked out our FIRST real Christmas tree this year! Adam and I have always put up a tree we got the first year we were married and thought it would be fun to pick out a tree each year with the girls and so that is what we did :)

I'm loving that Adam's cousin, Erica, is getting married on Dec. 17 and her Bridal Luncheon is on Sunday! Yah for wedding festivities!!

I'm loving the Yankee Candle Sparkling Pine candle especially since we got a real tree this year! The tree smells great and this little candle just adds to the sweetness! LOVE IT!

I'm loving that I had my 24 wk appt today and am so happy to report that everything is wonderful! Miss Maeline had a very strong heartbeat, but I do have to have my sugar test next visit...boo!

I'm loving my sweet family oh so much and am more thankful for them each and everyday, especially at the Holidays!

Night time routine

One of the things I am going to miss most when E is bigger is her bedtime routine! Sometimes she still lets me bounce her and pat her like this but only when she is really tired...after we took her off the bottle at 1 yr., this is how we got her to sleep/drowsy...

Now she rarely holds still long enough for me to put her on my lap so other nights after bathtime, I hold her, bounce and pat her, all while singing "Jesus Loves Me" to her. She lays her head on my shoulder, snuggles with her baby and blankie, and pats me, too. Melts me heart. I hold her until she gets heavy but not fully asleep and I put her down.

We also read before bedtime, usually in the living room or sometimes in her bedroom. She goes to the same books. She grabs the book "Moo, Baa, La La La!" and says "Moo?" I love it! She turns the page usually before I am even finished reading but I have the book memorized so I finish the words on the page anyways.

Ella Jae's 'go to' book is "I Love You Through and Through." On any given day, we could read this book 10x (in a row). She likes for me to read it over and over and over. I don't mind because that is exactly how I love her, "through and through, yesterday, today and tomorrow, too" and I want her to always know that!

Most nights she doesn't go to sleep immediately. She will talk and play with her baby. Very rarely does she cry unless she is just out of her gourd. She will even say "nigh nigh" in the sweetest voice when she sees me grab her blankie and walk towards her to take her to her room. I cherish each time I put her bed. I pray for her while I hold her, and I hope she knows just how much I love her with each pat on her little fannie. I love that I can see her sweet and lovely personality with each little pat she gives me, too!

Here's what I'm loving on this super HOTT summer day...

I'm loving we spent the weekend with lovelies! Tanya and Tommy came to visit from MA! We had such a great time with y'all! Hope you enjoyed our time together as much as we did! E misses her Auntie "Anya" and Uncle Tommy already!

I'm loving I got this AWESOME makeup palette from Sephora! I used my giftcard I got for my birthday from my bestie, Amanda!! And score....it was ONLY $19!!!!!!

I'm loving the Cover Girl liquid eyeliner pen! It is the bomb.com!!! I have never used liquid eyeliner. It has always seemed intimidating, then I saw a liquid eyeliner on a blog but it was an expensive brand and I didn't really want to pay the price for it. Then when I was stroller through Target, I found this steal....less than $6!!! Yes, ma'am!!

I'm loving that while 'lunch break shopping' yesterday, a F21 cashier walked up to me and said "do you want this?" and I looked and it was a giftcard with 14.86 written on it. She said that a customer left it behind. It totally made my day! So I got a dress for FREE and a few other things :)

I'm loving Sunday night icecream trips! We go to Flannigans, pull adirondeck chairs in a circle (to enclose E), eat our icecream and enjoy one another's company!

I'm loving my little family, as always! E and I were really spoiled because we got to spend 5 whole days with Adam!! Love my little family more than anything and so thankful all the joy they bring to my life!

Our Happy 4th

Happy Independence Day! So thankful for our freedom and for all who serves our country to protect that freedom! I have always loved 4th of July and all that comes with it, including celebrating my birthday typically even though my birthday isn't until the day after. Why not kill two birds with one stone, right? Our festive holiday weekend kicked off with taking the boat out for it's first test run. It has been in the shop for repairs since March (long story. ugh.) so we were so to get it out on the water for the holiday! We took it pretty easy since it was the first time of the season.

Then on Sunday, we went to church and then celebrated my birthday with family for the rest of the day! So blessed to have wonderful family! We ate pizza, cake, and ice cream, and swam and played water volleyball!! So fun!

We ended the holiday weekend with more time at the lake with more boating and a cookout! It was such a fun and perfect day! Everyone had a great time and it wasn't too hot. Ella Jae had a great time drinking the lake water and eating the clay ha.....geez....she puts everything in her mouth even before I have time to react ha! She fell asleep on the boat twice which totally amazed me because she WILL NOT sleep in the car, but she fell asleep before we even got out of the wake zone ha! She was just too precious! She hated her life jacket on Saturday but we got her a new one and she didn't seem to mind it today, thank goodness! It even acted as a pillow when she slept so that was great! She is really getting to be such a 'go with the flow' kind of girl which makes life so much easier!

Happy 4th of July! Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday as much as we did! Back to the weekly grind tomorrow, but it is my birthday so that is something to look forward to...date night at Bonefish with my handsome hubby!!

I'm loving side braids! I have been sporting them a lot lately. It is super easy and great for summer!

I'm loving the peanut butter Twix! This is so yummy and I have had way to many in the past week ha! But seriously, doesn't peanut butter make everything taste better?!!
I'm loving that Sunday is Father's Day and I get to celebrate what a sweet and awesome Daddy my husband is!

I'm loving the summer in Carolina! To me, there is nothing greater than summer nights in the south! Love 'em!

I'm loving the new cowboy boots Adam bought me for my birthday! I ofcourse don't get to wear them until my birthday in a few weeks, but it will be just in time for the Keith Urban concert :)

I'm loving Pinterest! It is just the greatest thing since sliced bread! I can catalog everything I love and don't have to keep making a gazillion favorites on my cp and trying to figure out where in the listing it is to be able to get back to it. HEAVEN! Check out what I'm pinning!

I'm loving that my little boo boo is becoming such a little lady! I just can't believe how fast she is growing and it is like has transformed since our week at the beach! She is my little pal!

I'm loving my little family as always! They are the cheese to my macaroni and the ketchup to my french fries! Love them oh so much!!

Myrtle Beach 2011

We spent last week in Myrtle Beach for Adam's grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary. We had such a great week with family, enjoying laughs and making memories! It was so awesome seeing Ella Jae enjoy the sand and ocean. We took E to Hilton Head Island last year when she was 4 mths old and we put her little toes in the ocean and she was expressionless. During our trip to Myrtle it was the first time we put her little toes back in the ocean for the first time this year and again she was expressionless ha! The first part of the week she kept saying "uh uh" and would hold out her hand for me to wipe the sand off ha! She didn't like it at first but by the end of the week she was covered from head to toe in sand! She also began to love the water and would say "wee" when we would play in the ocean with her. It was such a joy to watch her play in the sand and pick it up and watch it trickle through her little fingers, to watch her keep her balance across the rippled uneven beach sand, and to watch her make friends in the pool and push my hands away when I would try to guide her and just in case she fell. Stinker!

Ella Jae experience many firsts on her first beach trip of 2011. She enjoyed a sucker, a juice box, and tuna salad. She also started saying a few sentences!!! OMG...she is only 15 mths...is that normal ha! She started saying "I see you!" "I'm gonna get you!" "Good girl!" And "I love you!" See even flirted with a llittle guy that she met at Broadway at the Beach named Maddox ha!

I'm loving that in less than a month we will be going to the beach for a week!! I am so excited to be spending a full week on vacation!!

I'm loving that Pep came and to visit with us for a week! He left yesterday. We love when visits! He spoils us rotten!

Our Mother's Day Weekend

Friday night was our usual. We worked late and I picked up Little C's while Ad picked up E. I randomly checked Redbox to see if any good movies were playing and 'Little Fockers' was out so I decided to reserve it and it pick it up on my way home, too. E went to sleep early because she only had 1 nap and was super duper tired. Then Ad and I enjoyed the best $6 date night :) Pizza and a movie! Seriously, Little C's was only $5 for a large pizza and $1 for our Redbox movie....pure awesomeness if ya ask me!! Love the inventors of the Redbox! Greatest thing since sliced bread in my opinion!!

Saturday I worked and Ad kept E. He called me at work and said Ella Jae was walking through the house looking for me....she was crying, saying 'mommy' and even peeked up over the side of the bed to look for me ha! So I talked to her on the phone and she was all better :) Love that little snickerdoodle!!

We played outside with her big red ball that she likes to pick up over her head :) The ball is bigger than her ha!

She also spent some time sitting in her pick chair that Mama bought for her. This one stays on the porch and we move it to the ground so she won't fall off the porch with it. The child has more chairs than carter has liver pills!!

Also on Saturday, I went on a girls night to celebrate this beauty's birthday....

We went to Wild Wings to eat dinner, and I was so excited about it because I love me some Wild Wings!! I had been craving the Buffarella Wrap :)

Then we went bowling. I am NO bowler. I pretty much stink. Like for real! I seriously bowled like a 36 or something. Just about all the other girls broke 100 LOL! Told ya I was bad ha! But it was fun!!

We were all super tired by the end of the night because some of us are mommy's and others are nurses. So our bedtimes are pretty early ha!

Then ofcourse we had to make a pitstop at Starbucks! Yummo! Love the lovelies!!

Happy birthday, Jess! I hope you had a wonderful birthday and birthday dinner celebrating your special day! I am so thankful for our friendship! You have the sweetest spirit and kindest heart! Love ya, girl!!

Sunday was Mother's Day! Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! Adam was so sweet to get up with Ella Jae. Then when I got up, my favorites gave me a precious scrapbook of my baby pictures and comparable ones of Ella Jae along with sprinkle of my Mama and Momma mixed in, too! Adam worked really hard to make it and I will always treasure it! Ella Jae got me this watch that I have been wanting! Girlfriend has good taste already!! I loved my special gifts!

Adam also went to the grocery for me to pick up some things I needed to make dessert to take, and he even brought me breakfast from Dunkin Donuts, too :) After church we went to my grandma's for lunch and then to his parents' house to celebrate with Ad's family. We had kabobs!!!

The kabobs are a tradtition that I started by accident. We had them randomly one year and since I have always requested it so now it is a must on Mother's Day!!

I ofcourse had to get a picture of me and my girl!! Love her to pieces even if she will not stay still for longer than 2 seconds and look at the camera ha!

I thought she looked so stinkin' cute in her sailor pantsuit for church! I did change her not long after this picture ha!

I also had to throw this picture in here because you can totally see that her first top tooth came through! Thank goodness! But definitely, the one beside it is now trying to come through. Ugh...it never ends ha! Bless her little heart!

We had a great weekend! It was so nice to celebrate Mother's Day with the women in our life, those who have been like Mother's to me the past 13 years, and my second year as a Mom! Mother's Day has always been a sad day for me until last year. I no longer have to be sad that I don't get to celebrate with my Mom on this day because I get to celebrate BEING a Mommy to Ella Jae. I can't think of a greater reason to celebrate! I know my Mom is smiling down on us and celebrating with us. God knew that I needed Ella Jae as much as she needs me. I thank Him everyday for giving me the most precious gift, and I pray that I never take being a Mommy to Ella Jae for granted. It is such a joy, honor, and priviledge to get to be a Mommy, Ella Jae's Mommy!

I thought I would post some pictures of my wedding dress. I absolutely loved my wedding dress! I am no royal, but I felt like royalty on my wedding day, as girls should feel! My dress was the first one I tried on and I didn't want to take it off! The veil really made the dress. I had always dreamed of having a fancy poufy ball gown, but when I tried on my dress, I knew it was the one. To me, it was just so elegant and classic. Perfect. And just maybe Ella Jae will have the same thoughts and want to wear it someday :)

Now onto the Royal Wedding...I was up at 5:45 am to watch the big event. There is just something so intriguing about the royals, and what girl doesn't dream about being a princess?! I tuned in just as Kate and her dad were getting in the Queen's 1950s Rolls Royce. I anticipated seeing her whole dress the whole time as she rode in the car. And I have to say I was surprised when she made her way into the church because I thought her dress was going to be more elaborate much like Princess Diana's dress, but it wasn't at all. But nonetheless, it was stunning! She really looked so radiant! It really fit her personality to me. I watched the whole ceremony and then had to leave for work. Fortunately I made it to work in time to see Will and Kate step onto the balcony and seal the deal with a kiss. They look like they are the best of friends and so much in love. I loved how Kate got so tickled both times they kissed on the balcony. So sweet!

I'm loving that the Royal Wedding is on Friday, especially since I watched 'William and Kate' on Lifetime! Unfortunately, I will be at work on Friday :( But I got the app to watch it on my ipod :) There is just something so intriguing about the royals!!

I'm loving that I had a breakfast date at IHOP this morning with my little family! Adam has been on vacation and we he went back to work today but didn't have to be in until 11:30 am so we savored our morning together!

I'm loving my new Coach bag I got while I was in HHI this weekend :) I think it is perfect for Spring and Summer!!

I'm loving these little itty bitty flip flops we got for Ella Jae at the outlets this weekend! Aren't they the cutest things you've seen? They look so stinkin' cute on her little feet! She loves them, and actually walks really well in them!

I'm loving that I came home last night to these from my sweet hubby.....just because.....

This week I'm loving....

I'm loving that it is almost Easter! What a beautiful time of year that God really shows us who He is! I am looking forward to Easter Sunday service at church, a yummy Sunday dinner with family, egg hunts, dying eggs with E, Easter baskets, matching attire, beautiful weather, and celerating our risen Savior!

I'm loving that Ella Jae has become such a little cuddle bug! She loves sit on me and watch a show. She brings me books and will crawl in my lap. She will lay her head on me for no reason at all and pat me. She melts me heart and I love her with every part of me!

I'm loving that this will be our view on Sunday and Monday!

I'm loving this little adirondack chair that Adam's parents got E in Rhode Island when they visited there this past weekend. I saw one last year at HHI and wanted to get it for it. Isn't it super cute! She loves sitting in already :)

I'm loving that Water for Elephants comes out on Friday! I really want to see it and I'm hoping Ad and I can sneak in a date night to go to the movies!!

I'm loving that Mem and Pep Lambert sent us some Easter goodies :) They always send me and Ad chocolate bunnies each year and have since we started dating!! It makes me happy! Mem also sent E a little bear that says a few things, and she has been carrying it around and loving on it!!

I'm loving my little family, as always! I am really looking forward having some quality family time as Ad is off a few this coming week!! Eeeek....I {double heart} them sooooo much!!!

Our Weekend

We had a wonderful Spring weekend! Friday, was our long day at work and Mama kept E, so we met at her house after work. We were going to go to a cookout at my cousin's house at the lake but we were expecting bad weather so we decided to not risk it with E. Ad picked us up salads from Zaxby's instead. We ate at Mama's together and enjoyed time with her and then headed home. Saturday, I worked and Ad kept E. It is their daddy-daughter time :) Ella Jae had the best day she's had in a few weeks because she has been cutting the top teeth. They aren't through yet but they're very swollen. But she was very happy and didn't whine as much so it was great for us :) After she woke up from her second nap, we decided to eat dinner at Chili's, and because it is Mama's favorite restaurant we invited her to dinner. Chili's was packed because it was prom night (I secretly wished I was going ha! Loved prom!!), so we hit up Salsa's next door!! Which was totally fine with me because I love me some mexican!! Then we went to Target and browsed and picked up babyfood. E is no longer content sitting in the buggie or in a seat. She wants to be walking and exploring and that is rather difficult sometimes. So our adventure didn't last too long. But we had a great time together and really enjoyed the nice Spring night! Sunday, I ventured out to New Moon for breakfast ofcourse! But for some reason, I haven't really been in the mood to drink a whole iced coffee! Gasp, I know right! I don't know what's wrong with me. Taste bud changes, I guess. Then we got ready for church and headed there. Didn't E look cute this morning in her bunny top and ruffle pants?!

Those were the best pictures I could do this morning. The girl is non-stop! She has nicknames like "destructo-baby" and "determi-baby" because she is into everything and is always on the go! The pictures tell it all! Oh, get this.........today was E's first time in the church nursery!!! And I didn't even know she was in there!! We usually stay in the back until the music is over and then we walk to our seat. Well this morning, Adam stayed in the back with her and Adam's brother. And when church was over, I went back there and I saw Adam and no baby. Which isn't unusual because she gets passed around ha! So when I said who has E, he said "I have to go get her, I put her in the nursery!" OMG! Haha! I have nothing against the nursury, I just felt guilty leaving her, and his parents are so sweet to walk her around if she gets disruptive during the service. So as of today she is a nursery baby! The girls said she was really good and they loved holding her and playing with her :) After church we went to eat at Beef O'Brady's with Adam's family.

Adam went for a ride with his brother on their motorcycles once we got and me and E took a nap :) It was a great day for it. Then we went to the baptism at church tonight, and it was so wonderful! 50 people got baptised tonight!! It was a great feeling being in the sanctuary. I cried just about the whole service ha! It was really that touching! I think the older I get, the more I realize the sacrifices that Jesus Christ made so we can be freed from sin. What a beautiful gift we've been given! After the baptism, we went to Bruster's for icecream :) My fav! Ella Jae enjoyed her own little kids cone :) She took the biggest bite! She seriously bite the whole top of the cone off!! I know she had to of had brain freeze ha! She gets that from her Daddy and her Pep lol!

We had such a wonderful weekend with our families! I couldn't feel more blessed than I do at this exact second! Thank you, Lord, for the blessing of family!

Ella Jae has had this face on for the past three days and I'm pretty sure she will be getting her third tooth soon. Hopefully sooner rather than later! Her top gums are very swollen so I'm sure her third tooth is going to pop through, maybe the fourth and fifth! She is miserable, bless her little heart. She is a tough cookie and rarely cries at a bump on the head so I know she must be really umcomfortable when she cries if she drops her baby or if I don't pick her up immediately. So ok you little toothies...come soon because this mommy is worn out, please and thank you!!

I'm loving that it is Masters Week in Augusta, GA! Masters Week is always such a fun time of year around these parts! Everyone is on Spring Break, crowds of people are everywhere, and ya may even get a glimpse a celebrity here or there!

I'm loving these Easter candies! There is just something about the Reeses and Snickers in egg form that make them taste better!

I'm loving this super cute headband that I got in the mail today that I ordered on Etsy.com from LittleLovesDesigns! It looks so stinkin' cute on E!

I'm loving these two...Erica and Josh! We had such a great time with them over the weekend and can't wait to hang out again soon!

I'm loving my hubby and how he brought the new "OK!" magazine home from work, just because!

Finally Friday!

It's finally Friday!! I have been looking forward to this day since December! We are going to Atlanta for the Celtics VS Hawks game!! I am so excited because we are having a day date together! Adam loves ALL New England sports so when they play close we try to go as much as possible. Basketball is my favorite sport to watch in person, so it is a plus for me, too :) I love all the people and the fast pace and the cheering crowd! Plus the food! I am such a sucker for arena type munchie food! I will be sporting my super cute vintage Celtics shirt! Not excited about the ATL traffic, but it will be worth it to spend a great day with my hubby and see him super excited! Ella Jae will be spending the day with these lovlies! They are so excited to spend time with her and she is equally excited! She loves her cousins so much! Tiff and Chris are so sweet to keep E for us so we can enjoy a day to ourselves. I know she will be in good hands! Thanks sooooo much y'all! Y'all are the best!!

(I know, I know...E could totally pass as one of their kids lol!!)

And I also wanted to give a *shout out* to my cousin, Adrianna, who is trying out for JV cheerleading today! She is in the 8th grade and moving up to HS next year. She spent the night with us last night so I could help with her dance and cheers. I fixed her and hair and took her for breakfast this morning. I love our time together! Good luck today, Adrianna! I know you will do AWESOME!!!

In addition to today, we have a super fun weekend planned! Yah for weekends!

So I don't forget...

Ella Jae is full of personality these days! She is becoming quite the imitator. She tries to imitate everything we say and do now, like tonight I was cooking and I gave her some cooking utensils to play with, and I took the spatula and patted my jacket with it and she did the exact same thing!! She makes us laugh so hard at all the little things she does. She is just so big yet so little. Some new things she's doing so I don't forget..............

E's new words: aah-uh-oooooooo (translation:uh-oh). And she says the "O" perfectly and her mouth even makes a perfect "O"; "Mimi" for "Mena" our dog and "Brea" for "Brady" our other dog; she said "hello" today; I said "ow" when she stepped on my toe and now she says it everytime I say it; says "ew" and she makes a squinty face when she is unsure or doesn't like something.

She shakes her head "no" when she doesn't want something like food, a kiss, someone to hold her....she is a STINKER, big time!

Walking around with a bag or purse is new :) Girlie girl!

Takes her bows out then looks at me with a smile like "look what I did Momma!" haha! Then she tries to put the bow back in.

She thinks the word "no" is funny (Lord, help me!) and smiles when I say it and does whatever I tell her not to do. This could be a future problem, but for now we just try to change her idea but yea, that never works.

She will lay her head on us for no reason at all which totally and completely melts our heart! And she will pat us, too. So sweet!

She has started really drinking a lot from her sippy cup. I was worried at first because she wasn't really drinking all that much, but now she will gulp down a whole cup of milk before she even starts to eat and I have to refill it ha!

Claps everytime she hears "yah" or "pattycake", when she thinks she's done something great, or hears music.

I do "this little piggy" on her toes the other night and she grabbing her toes like she was trying to do it, too, and kept saying "weeeeeee" lol!

We ask her where her nose or our nose is and she will point at it.

I will do motions for "I love you"....like pointing to my eyes then pointing outward to "you" and she totally point to her eyes and outward along with me! Love it!

I know, I know...probably every kid does these same things at this same age of 13 mo, but it is kind of a big deal for us! We think she is super smart, ofcourse! But no, she really is!!

I'm loving that Ad and I are going to ATL on Friday to see the Boston Celtics play the Atlanta Hawks (and do some shopping)! I am so excited that we will have the whole day to ourselves to talk and just be together with no distractions as well doing somethings we can enjoy together! Ad loves ALL New England sports just FYI :)

I'm loving this wreath I found online and I am in the process of trying to make my own. Isn't it so fun and springy? I even have the perfect flag to match :)

I'm loving this dress I bought at Target! I think I may wear it for Easter :) I L-O-V-E dresses!

I'm loving this other dress that I bought at F21! (Sorry the picture quality isn't great but it is really cute and lightweight, and it was a steal!) Gotta love F21!

I'm loving this Dannon Light & Fit yogurt-Toasted Coconut Vanilla! I have never really been a yogurt fan, but I love all Light & Fit! I'm loving these Yogi Granola Crisps (especially when paired with the above)! I actually picked them up by accident. I thought I was getting regular granola but now I don't know if I'll go back :) Yummo! And healthy!

I'm loving my sweet little family (and the icecream pictured ha!), as always! I love them so much sometimes I think he my heart could explode! They really are the best part of me!

1. What is a food that you never thought you would try, but then tried and liked? There is a great family owned seafood restaurant that I grew up going to with my mom's family called Old McDonald's Fish Camp, and when I was probably about 10 or 11 my cousin ordered "frog legs" and she wouldn't leave me alone until I tried them. And when I did, I found she was exactly right...they did taste like chicken...lol!

2. Do you subscribe to any foodie publications? If so, which ones? Does Southern Living or Better Homes and Garden count...I subscribe to both and always go straight to the recipe section of each mag :)

3. What ingredient do you find yourself reaching for the most when you cook? Butter...I think I'm kin to Paula Deen...lol!

4. Are there any foods that you hated as a child, but then learned to like as an adult? I have never been a picky eater that I can recall. I always just kind of ate what was fixed, and still eat pretty much everything.

5. What do you like to eat that others may consider weird? I love collard greens and turnips with mayo..."weird" is an understatement to most people lol! But it is good, I promise! Try it!

6. What is the weirdest ingredient you’ve ever cooked with? Cumin, until I found out what it was lol! I had never heard of cumin before until I needed it for a recipe. It's just a weird word to me lol!

7. Do you have any major food allergies? I don't, praise the Lord! I don't know what I would nor does anyone in my fam.

8. Is there an ingredient that you would like to cook with, but are intimidated to try? I get really imtimidated with recipes with lots of ingredients!

9. Do you bake? I LOVE to bake and wish I had more time to do it! I grew up with a baking grandma and love it all! I most look forward to the days when Ella Jae and I can bake together :)

10. If you could go on any “foodie” show to compete, which one would it be, and why? I don't really watch many cooking competition shows. I enjoy more of Paula, Rachael, & Giada. But if I had to pick, it would probably be Throw Down with Bobby Flay because a local baker, Very Vera, competed on that show and won!

Bagels and the couch

Ella Jae always seems to want what I am eating more than what she is given ha! So this morning, I shared my bagel with her and she loved it! There really isn't much she won't eat! The girl loves food and she lets you know it, too, with a "ummm..." and "ooooo..." lol!

E's new thing is climbing onto the couch (all by herself) and crawling back and forth on the couch! She is such a funny little chick! She gets excitement out of the smallest thing like her Momma!

Although, she hasn't quite mastered how to get off the couch lol! She tends to just roll off and we have to be there to catch her!

Our Weekend

Friday, we worked late and Ad went to pick up Ella Jae from his parents' while I went to help out with a couples wedding shower. It was so much fun and unfortunately I didn't take any pictures :( But I did manage to swip this picture off of a FB page of their cake. It was a beach theme and this cake was awesome! Doesn't it look fake?! Congratulations, Aaron and Lauren! We all go to church together and Lauren is also one of my sorority sisters! They are having a desitination wedding in Jamaica! I am so happy for Aaron and Lauren!! Saturday was a very rainy day, ALL DAY LONG! We both had to work Saturday, so my Mama kept E while we worked and we both met at my Mama's for lunch. After it slacked off, we headed home for naps. It was the perfect day for it :) We wanted to go to dinner as a family but didn't really want to take E out in the weather so I headed out to the Redbox, Firehouse Subs, and Mi Rancho :) I got Ad a sub and me some mexican! Yum!! It was a great night together of playing and reading together!

Sunday it rained more and we made another day of staying at home! I ventured out for our traditional Sunday breakfast at New Moon :) And then we went to Grandma's for lunch, too. It was a very simple day, but I enjoyed being with my little family and soaking them in with no distractions!!

I had to post this picture of E, even though it is only half of her face because she moved when I took the pic, but it shows the details of her beautiful little face! She can not be more perfect! I could just eat her up!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week! It is supposed to rain all week, so maybe I can get all my chores caught up since we won't be venturing out all that much! We'll see...lol!!

I'm loving that today Me and E picked up our cousin, Casey, from school and went to buy him new shoes (glow in the dark Sketchers ha!), Baskin Robbins for icecream, and the park! He also went with us to eat with Adam's family and he got to enjoy some "guy time" on the golf course! "Guy time" is essential for even 8 yrs olds right??!! LOL

We love you, Case!!

I'm loving that my Mama surprised me with zebra print flip flops and a zebra print comforter :) It feels good to be taken care of even at the ripe old age of 25 and 3/4 haha!

I'm loving this little pageboy hat I bought E at Children's Place, even though she wasn't loving it at that particular moment lol!

I'm loving these Better Homes and Garden Wax Warmer products!! They are similar to the "Scentsy" products that are so popular right now. I had been contemplating on whether to spend the moolah (like $55) to get the whole "Scentsy" deal, but then when I saw this at Walmart, I couldn't pass it up for $15!! I got this exact warmer because I loved the neutral look and the fleur de lis on the sides. I got the Baked Apple Pie waxes. They were only $2, and they have like 6 or 8 different ones. My house smells DELISH!!!
I'm loving that last night after dinner we went outside to enjoy the weather and let E play on the swing and our dogs got some extra love :)

I'm loving that I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow and that my Mama is watching E for a few hours! I am looking forward to some "me" time :)

I'm loving my little family as always!! I {heart} them more than life!!

A nice needed night

E and I were playing while we waited on daddy to get home from work, and I got a text from my cousin, Tiff. She wanted to know if we had eaten yet and if we wanted to meet her and her two boys at McDonalds. I told her I just fed E and was hoping Ad would take me for mexican. She said "well, why I don't I just come and get Ella Jae? The boys will love it! And you and Adam can eat together." Totally made my night!! It was totally unplanned, much appreciated, and much enjoyed! And the great thing was the mexican restaurant is right across the street from the McDonalds. It was nice so to just enjoy eachother and talk about our days and future together! Typically meals consist of me feeding E and Adam eating super fast so he can then feed E while I eat ha! When we were done we just drove over there and picked up E. She had fun playing with her cousins, and they take such good care of her! Then after we got home and put E to bed, I ran out to TJ Maxx and Ross :) Sometimes a girl just needs to shop ha! I got a couple cute things and E a super cute outfit with a little skirt. Shopping always makes me happy!! It was a much needed and very nice night! Thanks, Tiff, again for taking Ella Jae to play with the boys! You are the best!

One Year Check-up

Today Ella Jae had her one year check-up. She even made a new friend named Laura-Kate :) It was the cutest thing! Ella Jae kept following her around and hugging her! The little girl liked E just as much. She kept holding her hand and pointing at ther bow and shoes. So sweet! The girl doesn't meet a stranger and loves babies and kids. I think I may have a little social butterfly on my hands. I pray she has lots of sweet friends someday and will be a nice friend as well!! E had to get three shots :( And they pricked her finger. Poor thing. I hurt my heart to look into little her eyes filled with tears. She quieted as soon as I picked her up. Bless her little heart!

Friday night consisted of a scruptious and very healthy Subway dinner at home and we even let E stay up later than normal because we missed her so much! Those are the best nights! Just staying in as a little family, watching tv, and chasing E all around ha!

Saturday we both had to work so Adam's dad kept E for us that morning and when we all got home, we had som lunch and gave E her first Girl Scout cookie :)

Then while E napped we got ready for a dinner date :) Me, Ad, and E went to eat at Salsa's (I could eat mexican everday of my life ha!) and then we went to Target :)

Then we went to Adam's parents house to spend some time with his family from RI before they left go back home. E loves her little car :)

We will miss everyone very much and will look forward to the next time we see them in June! We had such a great fun filled two weeks with everyone! Thank y'all so much for coming to see us and spend E's first birthday with us! We love y'all so much!!

Before we left, E got into her Mem's purse haha! The girls LOVES a purse and anything girly :)

On Sunday we went to church and have lunch. I also was able to get some shopping time in while E napped which was super great and refreshing :) It is so funny how shopping can totally change my mood and I don't even have to really buy anything ha! Then that afternoon we went to the new Dunkin Donuts which was only have a preview "by invitation only"! We are kind of a big deal ha! Adam's brother works for DD so we went to support him plus we all love it AND it was all FREE!!!

Adam totally took advantage of the "FREE" stuff haha! Nicholas really wanted to make a waffle cone ha, so Adam got this gigantic cone and smoothie...silly boy!

E enjoyed some yummy treats, too! Her Daddy shared with her :) She also got her own little munchin donut :) She is such a big now! It is like she turned one and turned into a little independent toddler :( Love her to pieces!!

Later that night we enjoyed playing this new game called "Shakin Sorry!" It is the same concept as the normal "Sorry!" but doesn't take as long to play. We all got a little silly and had so much fun!! Looking forward to a week with my family and getting my house in order because boy does it need it!

Thankful Thursday

I am so thankful on what was a beautiful Thursday!

I am thankful that Ella Jae and I met some of our favorites at McDonald's this morning for breakfast! We had such a fun time! It was E's first time playing in a play gym type atmosphere and she LOVED it! She cried a little when we left :( She was walking all over the place and crawling up and down the steps of the play gym. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry because she looked like such a big girl playing!

I am thankful that we were able to meet Pep for lunch at Wendy's (2nd fast food of the day...don't judge...haha)! It is our tradition with Pep when he comes in town that he and I go to Wendy's and now Ella Jae is in on that tradition, too! Again, she stole the show with her cuteness! She wanted to walk so I let her and seriously like all the workers behind the counter were peeking around the corner ohhing and ahhing over her haha! It makes me one proud Momma!

I am thankful that I got to experience a time with my babygirl that I have dreamed of! After lunch, she and I walked downtown Aiken and shared a strawberry cupcake! We have the best downtown, and I always dreamed of taking walks with my babies and sharing sweet treats, and that is exactly what we did today :) She was so unbelievely good while we were out and about. She is the best little pal, and I am so thankful I get to share sweet experiences with her! Wouldn't trade them for the world...even something as simple as sharing a strawberry cupcake!

I am thankful that Adrianna and Mama made a surprise visit at our house this afternoon! E had just got up from her afternoon nap and was in a great mood, and we all were hungry so we went to eat at the Pizza Joint! E made us laugh because she was entertaining everyone and was trying to talk to all the little kiddos! Is it just my child that goes crazy when she sees another small child or baby?

I am so thankful for my Mama! She is always there for me no matter what the situation and loves me for me no matter what mood I'm in!

I am thankful I have a job to go to tomorrow but just wish I could take my little boo boo with me :) I get so spoiled by our days together!

I am thankful it is almost the weekend and we get to spend some quality family time together and make sweet sweet memories!

One year ago today was a Friday, and I was 39 weeks pregnant. I remember it like it was yesterday! I slept in, did laundry, got ready for the day and met my father in law and uncle at a local Greek restuarant called "Acropolis." We know the owners well and she told me to eat the eggplant parm because it has been known to induce labor, not sure if that is a Greek thing or what. I thought "yea right, but what the heck because I like eggplant parm." haha! I ran some errands and came home to rest then get ready for a hot date night with my hubby! I took my 39 week preggo picture in the living room before heading off to dinner at "Beef O'Brady's" and then we heading to Books-A-Million. We had a great night together and I remember not eating that much because I had such little room because Miss Ella Jae was taking up all the room ha! We came home and I got in the bed at 10ish and woke up at midnight because I thought I had to tinkle. But when I used the bathroom, I knew something was different so I called the answering service at my doc office at 12:09 am and said I thought my water had broken and she said that I needed to head to the hospital because the only way to know for sure was to take a test. I took a shower and then woke up Adam. He had taken Nyquil the night before ha, so I had to wake him several times before he acutally got up lol! I grabbed my bag and we headed out the door. I had no pain at that point so I wasn't really sure if I was in labor or not, and I didn't have a gush of water like I see in movies, but I did remember my Momma telling me that when her water broke with me that it was a gradual thing. So when we got to the hospital, it was full moon and I had to wait for a nurse to be called in because so many women we having babies that night! Sure enough, my water had broken...and the fun began. 11 hours and 50 minutes later we had a beautiful healthy baby girl!

Our Weekend

We had a great weekend with perfect weather! I am loving the warmer weather! It can definitely stay for a while! Friday, Ella Jae had some time with her Mama while I worked. So after work, Ad met me at Mama's and I picked up some Chili's and we all ate supper together. Mama treated us to dinner as part of our belated Valentine's :) Thanks, Mama!

Saturday was such a beautiful day! Picture perfect in my mind! After E's morning nap we got ready and went downtown for lunch and a walk! It was so great and we really enjoyed our little family time! We are at one of my favorite deli's "What's Cookin,'" saw several people we knew and chatted with them, went into a few of my favorite little shops, and went to "Desserves" to order E's cake and cookies for her party! I am so excited about her little smash cake. I can't wait to see how it turns out. E was ready for a nap after all that so we headed home. Then when dinner time rolled around we wanted to go someplace and eat outside where it was nice so we once again decided to go downtown haha! We ran into Erica (Ad's cousin and my bff) and her fiance' Josh, and we all went to eat at Takosushi together! We were so glad we ran into them and got to eat dinner together! Ella Jae was so good throughout the day and at dinner! She has started being so content when we take her out now. I don't know if it is the tubes that helped or just the stage she is in, but I am so thankful for it! For a period of time we didn't go out very much or when we did it was very nightmare-ish lol! But now she is just the best little thing! Even when she gets tired she doesn't really complain that much :) It has definitely gotten easier!

Sunday we ate at Grandma's and enjoyed cake for Tiff's birthday which is Wednesday. The cake...funny story...was sitting on the table and Tiff's two-year-old got into the cake knocked it off the table, and had gotten himself a fork and proceeded to dig in lol!! No one unfornately got any pictures, but we were able to save the cake because when it fell, it fell into the top plastic part haha! My grandma lives next to a church with a playground that is like a 100 years old, but we have always enjoyed it nonetheless! We headed over there to play with the kiddos. Then we came home for naps and E woke up unhappy :( I think she is getting more teeth. She still only has one, and the doc said she would probably get more at one time. We went on Thurs. for a check-up with her tubes and all was well, so I am hoping it is just her teeth bothering her. Poor little thing! We have a big week ahead so hopefully it passes soon!

I'm loving that E and I met Jess for lunch today at Moe's and we stayed for 2 hours sitting and talking! Love her to pieces!

I'm loving that in 6 days we will be seeing these two ladies and our family from RI who will start coming in to celebrate Ella Jae's birthday! We can't wait to see them!

I'm loving my KK and that we met her, Sam, and Davis for icecream on Sunday at Marble Slab! We have the best talks and she gives the best advice!

I'm loving this super cute tulle wreath and the tutorial I found online to make for E's party!

I'm loving my beautiful family! I can't put into words how much I LOVE them!

I'm loving that we are only days from Ella Jae's 1st birthday...yikes!!! In TEN days my baby will be a whole year old! I adore her more and more each day!

Our Weekend

Friday was typical. Me and Ad both worked late. Ad picked up E and they met me for BBQ at a yummy little place near our house. I really wanted mexican, but Ad wasn't in the mood :( I could seriously eat mexican everyday! But we really enjoyed our supper, and Ella Jae enjoyed eating some grits, macaroni, and mashed potatoes :) My baby girl is southern through and through!

Saturday was a beautiful day! I had to teach a "Money Matters for Teens" class at a college, so it was nice to have a change rather than just being at the credit union on a Saturday! When I got home for work, I was greeted by a great surprise...E was bathed, her hair was combed, and she had on matching clean clothes :) Daddy got major brownie points for that one hehe! We enjoyed a nice lunch together and wanted to go for a walk, but E was getting tired so she went down for a nap while Ad and I straightened up the house.

E opened her card from her Memere' and Pepere' Lambert :) She loved it!

For dessert, she enjoyed her first powdered donut :)

Later Saturday afternoon, we went out for a little Valentine's dinner with my Mama (E says 'hi' in the picture)! We went to Bonefish, my fav! We had a very surprising 35 min. wait, and E was so good! She enjoyed eating on my garlic mashed potatoes and bread. She is getting to be such a big girl at the dinner table :) She was really pooped after dinner, throwing all her toys on the floor must have really worn her out ha!

Sunday, we enjoyed lunch at Grandma's! We haven't been in a while because my grandma's husband has been in the hospital, but he is out now and doing well, so it was nice to all be back together on a Sunday for Sunday dinner! We always look forward to it! Tiff, Chris, and the boys came so it was so fun being with them and watching them play with Ella Jae! E loves her cousins! She was walking so much to and from everyone! It was the cutest thing! The little stinker could walk consistently if she wanted to, but she is a cautious little one! I am sure it is coming soon though, and then she will be leaving me in her dust :(

Finger painting with pudding was something I always dreamed of doing when I had children someday :) And finally I got to do it with my EJ! We had so much fun! The best part was watching her face and how she kept looking at me for approval as she stuck her fingers into the pudding and smeared it all around! I think she likes vanilla pudding...

I'm loving my sweet little family! They make me smile each day and bless me beyond what I deserve!

I'm loving that Adam and I had got to have a date night on Saturday! We tooke E to Ad's parents, and 4 restaurants later we found one that didn't have a 55 min or longer wait! We had a great time eating dinner together (side by side...gag...I know lol), going to Target and Movie Stop! We missed our little one and talked about her constantly but it felt so nice to just be "us"!!

I'm loving that my Mama came over on Monday and she brought E some little goodies :) The doll she is holding is one she brought her that sings "I'm a Little Teapot" and it came with little teacups! We went to Ross and had some fun girl time together!

I'm loving my Mama! She is my best friend and I don't know what I would do without her! I love that she adores E and that E adores her and lights up when she sees her!

I'm loving that I got to fix my cousin's hair for her Valentine Court at her school on Monday. I picked her up and brought her to my house and we did a little makeover! We had fun chatting while I did her hair and makeup :) She is a sweetie!

I'm loving that yesterday I went to ATL for work and got to go with a good friend from work. It was such a nice change of pace and felt like a little mini vaca ;) After our meeting, we went to the cutest shopping area and I just fell in love!! I got some cute stuff, too, and we had a great time bonding!

I'm loving that I FINALLY got some cowboy boots! They were one of the things I got yesterday on my trip and they were marked down to $19.99!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoo hoo!

I'm loving planning E's 1st birthday in 2.5 weeks!! The theme is Minnie Mouse and Zebra print! She loves Minnie Mouse!! She is going to be so excited at her party :) I am going to pick up her invites today and get them in the mail tomorrow! Can't.Believe.It.Is.Almost.Here.

Super Bowl

Sunday we had some family over for the Super Bowl. Even though Adam's beloved Patriots didn't play, we still had to watch. Everyone made some dishes and we had a fun time together! I barely even watched the game and hated I missed a lot of the commercials :( But I did see the halftime show and wasn't real impressed :/ Eating the food was my favorite part! I think we will be eating on it all week!!

I can eat like a big girl

Ella Jae can feed herself with a spoon like a big girl! I gave E the spoon with food on it tonight just to see what she would do and she stuck it right in her mouth! Now each time we eat and she uses a spoon I let her do it herself. Most of the time she sticks it in her mouth, but then sometimes she gets all silly on me and flings it hehe! But she is definitely getting the hang of it!

Our Weekend

Our weekend was a sickly one. Mean stomach bug visited us again. Adam started not feeling well Thursday night. He called me Friday at work to tell me that he got sick and I had to convince him to go home. (He is such a dye-hard!) Then about 4:30 Adam's dad called me to tell me E had gotten sick 2x, so I left work and made a quick stop at the grocery store to pick up at the essentials...gatorade, powerade, pedialyte, gingerale, pepto, children's tylenol, and milk (that was for me). When I got home, Adam said "these have been the longest 3 hours. I am so glad you are home!" Poor guy. He was not well at all. E didn't get sick anymore, she was just really clingy. Finally after I got the two of them settled at 8:30, I went to pick up some mexican and watched Jerry Maguire lol! But it ended up being a very long night :( And I had to work on Saturday. No fun.

Saturday was better, praise the Lord! I worked and Adam's mom came to pick up E. Adam actually got out of bed so that was a good sign. When I got home from work, Ad and E both seemed to be like 90% so I was really happy. Adam's parents brought over a leather couch to our house for us to have because they bought a new one so we moved it in and got it all settled. We rested some and then met back up to eat at Zaxby's.

We slept in today because E woke up at 5am. We took our time getting ready and met some family for lunch at Ruby Tuesday. By the time lunch was over, E was getting really tired so we thought she was going to nap so Adam's dad took her with him and we went to run some errands. But when we got back, poor thing hadn't slept a wink. I knew something was up. I got her down but when she woke she started throwing up again :( So I am going to take her to the doctor tomorrow to see what is up. The stomach has really been going around in our area. I heard 70% of our area had it. I just hope I don't get it anymore than what i had last Wed. night! So it looks like it is going to be a pedialyte night, but hopefully not a long night. And there was our sickly weekend. Hoping tomorrow will be a fresh start to a WELL week!!

Stomach bug, tubes, and 1st tooth

Last night, E got hit with the stomach bug :( She has never been that sick, ever! She was a trooper and wasn't even really phased by it. She slept until 9 am yesterday and then I even had to wake her because we had to take my grandma to a doc appt. Little sleepy head! She is much better today, still a little puny but none of the other stuff! Thank goodness she is better because she is getting tubes today. She has had an ear infection each month since September and since it is just now winter, her PED thought it would be best to get tubes. We were referred by many family friends to go to a doc in our area that uses a laser. The doc is amazing and he is so good with Ella Jae. He completely explained the whole procedure to me in detail and even drew a little diagram :) I feel really good about this decision. Please say a little prayer for our pumpkin as she gets tubes today even though she won't feel pain, we do have to hold her down since they won't put her under. She will not be happy :( But the outcome is so worth it!

At 10 1/2 months old, E finally cut her first tooth!! You can see it on the bottom right! Her bottom gums have been swollen for a while now so I knew it was coming. I would check every day and finally on Jan. 15 it decided to poke through :) And now you can see it really well. It looks like the tooth beside it is about come through anyday now!

Mondays aren't so bad...

Now that I work part time, Mondays aren't so bad anymore :) I work on Saturday mornings until 12:30, so Sunday and Monday are my weekend it feels like! Today me and my lovebug cuddled inside and then met Daddy for lunch. We had a great lunch together :) Ella Jae is starting to become quite the Daddy's girl these days. It is pretty recent and she just squeals when she sees him. It makes me smile! She is becoming quite the actress, too! She does this fake cry now and when I lay her down for a nap or bedtime she peaks to see if I am still there....so funny! Mama came to visit in the afternoon and stayed with E while I ran to the grocery to pick up a few thing for us and Mama needed a few things, too. It was nice having her with us for a little while. I know E enjoyed getting that extra loving, too :)

Little Debbie lover

Tonight while I was cooking dinner, E was in the kitchen exploring as usual. She typically opens all the cabinets and pulls things out, goes over to the baker's rack and pulls all her babyfood and snacks out (off the bottom shelf), pulls up on the trash can and dishwasher, plays with measuring cups, etc. But tonight, she was really quiet all of a sudden and I turned and looked, and this is what I saw...

Ella Jae enjoying a Little Debbie cake :) The little stinker somehow pulled a Little Debbie cake out of the box on the second shelf of the baker's rack. (Take notice of the pink crumbs around her!)

And when I caught her, she dropped it and headed straight to me like "Momma, I didn't do nothing!" :)

And this is the damage! She managed to either bite it open or press it hard enough to open the end of it. She was going to town on that Little Debbie and there were pink crumbs everywhere! Looks like Ella Jae has a sweet tooth :)

New Year brings new changes

2011 brings some new and exciting changes for the Lambert family! I now work only part time!!! I work Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. And the other four days a week I get to stay at home with the cutest sweetest and most fun 10 month old ever! What a blessing! Each day this past week I just wanted ot burst into tears of joy! I feel like a new person already and man, does it feel good! I was getting to my end point and stressed beyond measure with commuting (with a 10 mo old mind you), working all day, commuting back home, cooking, cleaning, being Mommy and Wifey. It was getting hard to enjoy anything. And I know I probably sound like such a weeney because millions of moms do the same thing everyday without batting an eye. But I just think I was cut from a different mold than most working mothers. So my sweet hubby and I came to the greatest conclusion of my life so far and decided that it would be best for our family if I went part time. My employer was so unbelievely understanding and agreed to my proposition! I started my part time schedule on Jan. 3. And this week has been one of the best weeks of my life. Sweet Ella Jae is even different and loving being home with Mommy! Can't you tell???....
Monday, we had a chill day! We went to the grocery store, and I cleaned while she napped. Wow, did it feel good to get my house in order or what! And knowing that I can stay on top of it puts such a huge smile on my face!

Tuesday, I worked. I was really tired when I got home. Adam's parents were so sweet to bring E to us because his mom keeps her on Tuesdays now, AND...they also brought us pizza :)

Wednesday, we traveled to the ear doctor and the prognosis is E does need tubes but they will use a laser so no putting her under! I loved the doctor and feel really good about the decision. If it gives her relief and their are no risks, I am all for it! Then we went to visit with Mama for a while since she isn't keeping her 3 days a week any longer. I know she will miss her like crazy. Later that afternoon we went to eat supper at Mem's for our weekly family dinner. Then Pep Lambert came in late to be with us for a week!

Thursday, we took Grandma Betty to the beautyshop to get her hair fixed then E and I met Pep Lambert, Dad and Uncle Mac for some Wendy's (our tradition when Pep comes to SC). E was really good besides making a huge mess on the floor :) We keep her mostly entertained with food! That girl loves to eat! Then we came home for a nap and then headed to pick up some WifeSaver for a friend who recently had a baby girl! It was so fun to see another newborn since E! I did kind of forget how small she really used to be. And E was in love...she would just squeal at the sight of Aubrey! It was the cutest thing! We came home after our visit to get dinner ready because we were having Pep over for supper. Pep and E played whiled I set the table and waitied for Daddy to get home and join us.

Friday was a long day because I worked until 6:15 and I met everyone else at Mom and Dad's for some Chinese :) Yummo. We hung out there and then went home to put E down.

Saturday I worked and then did a little shopping before I went home. I got some things at Hobby Lobby for E's 1st birthday! Yikes...can't believe I am already planning that day! It seems like yesterday we were bringing her home! We enjoyed a quiet afternoon at home and then it got supper time and we got hungry and decided hum...let's got to Old McDonald's Fish Camp :) We called Grandma Betty and off we went. It was so yum and E enjoyed her first bowl of grits...she may have a little smidge of yankee blood but that girl is all Southern :)

Sunday was so cold out that we skipped Church and stayed in our pj's then went to Mom and Dad's for lunch and to watch a movie with the fam. But before we left E destroyed our living room haha! Adam called her "destructo-baby!" Haha!! So my normal cleaning routine will begin back today!

Skipping Fall...onto Christmas

So I am totally skipping Fall and posting all about our Christmas holiday! There just isn't enough time to go that far back :) Ofcourse, Christmas came and went all too fast! With me working full time, having a commute to work, being mommy and wifey, along with all the other chores and duties of life, it really did come and go way too fast. I really enjoyed the week of Christmas. I was off most of the week so it was really nice to relax and take it all in and really focus on the true meaning of the season rather than all the hustle and bustle that comes with it.

Monday night of Christmas week I went out with some girlfriends from high school. They were my best friends for so long and we have been through so much together. I really really missed them like A LOT! We chatted and caught up of some yummy tappas food, and I totally didn't take any pictures :(

Then Tuesday night, my family and me and Ad went to a concert. It was so nice to be with my grandmothers and cousins. And I saw Dave from Lady A, again :) He is from the same area as me and was home for the holidays! He is such a cool humble guy!

Wednesday was Adam's birthday :) Before we celebrated his birthday, E and I met up with My Mama, Mrs. Joy and Mrs. Brenda for our annual girls luncheon. This year we met at California Dreaming rather than going to one of houses. It just seemed easier that way. Then we went back to Mrs. Brenda's to open gifts and have some cake :) These are the best women that I know! I love each of them with all my heart!! That night we celebrated Adam's birthday at his grandmother's house. We had pizza (his request) and a yummy red velvet cake I picked up for "A Piece of Cake" (my favorite...shh...don't tell)!

Thursday was a shopping day :) Me and E met my Mama and cousin, Adrianna, at Chili's for lunch and went to Target, Ross, and the mall. Then Adrianna came home with and helped out with E while I cooked. She ended up spending the night. We had such a fun day and E was a trooper :) I never really know how she is going to be when I take her shopping so I just play it by ear ha!

Friday was Christmas Eve! Ad had to work half a day :( So us girls went to eat breakfast at New Moon (my fav bfast spot) then came back home so I could get my cook on while E napped. Adrianna went home, and me and E were off to Tiff and Chris' house for a luncheon with my family. We do sandwiches and dips and open presents so we can be together because we all have so many places to go Christmas day, and we are like sisters so it is very important that we spend quality time together!

Ad met us there, then we came home so E could get another nap in and then we went to Church for our Christmas Ever service. Then we went to Adam's parents house for their annual party. We had a lot of fun and it was so nice being with our families! E fough sleep something awful, but she finally went down. She just hates to miss anything! After everyone left, us "kids" opened the present we open every year....Christmas pj's....so fun! Then...Megan (my SIL) and I begged to open another :) Typical girls :) The guys could have cared less, so they let us open another gift :) My gift was a bling ring :) My in-laws know me all too well!!

I have lots of catching up to do and lots of recaps that need to be made on this blog. Weddings, holidays, many firsts for E like fairs and Boo at the Zoo and waving bye-bye. Time just doesn't permit. I feel like I am constantly playing catch up in this season of my life. No fun. I am however enjoying every moment I spend with my growing baby girl and super fantabulous and ever so helpful hubby! I will however miss them both tremendously this weekend as I travel to Nashville, TN for one of my best friend's wedding. It is going to be amazing beautiful, although I am a little disappointed I'm not there tonight to see someone famous. I would so be doing some major country music star stalking outside of the Grand Old Opray! LOL! Who knows maybe I will spot Carrie or Miranda on my way in to the big music city tomorrow! That would totally make my visit complete! I will be back to report pictures and celeb spottings (fingers crossed)!

I thought she might be a little afraid at first, but the during the first big push her Daddy gave she smiled the biggest smile! She wasn't that impressed with the slide, though. I am having one of those days. One those days where I want to be at home with Boo restling with her to get her to eat with her head up, chasing her around while she crawls, pulls up to stand and climbs on anything and everything that is high (including me), making her laugh at all my silly faces and animal noises, holding her while I give her a bottle and as she is falling asleep she is pulling tightly on my hair, giving eachother kisses all day long (her wet kisses/licks are the best! ha!). I want to be at home on this beautiful day taking her for a walk (not in her stoller, of course-that is out of the question these days) with her pulling leaves off all the trees. Life just isn't fair. I know it could be worse, really worse. I am truly thankful for all our blessings, really! We are super blessed and I am grateful, but I want more time with her. Quality time. Not just the 2.5 hrs I spend with her everyday just feeding, bathing and driving her. I am forever trying to come up with things to sell on Etsy so I can have that time. Any suggestions? Ha! Maybe one day I will come up with something. Until then I will just be thankful that we have our health and love (lots of it)!

Honestly, though, how do people do it? And stay sane? The getting ready (all of us), commuting, working a LONG day, cooking dinner, cleaning up dinner, baths, bedtime...and then the other daily things that require attention...it tuckers me out!! No wonder my bedtime is 9 pm, sometimes earlier! If anyone has a magic solution to being a working mother, PLEASE let me know! I need all the help I can get!

Now I will continue to mope around until I am reuntied with my Boo at 7 pm tonight just as she is getting ready for sleep. Most people love Fridays, but Fridays are my long days. At work til 6:15 then a 40 min drive home :( But I do love weekends and I am looking forward to mine so much. Ad is going on a camping trip for his brother's bachelor weekend. We have family coming in today for Megan and Nicholas' wedding next weekend. So me and my Boo Boo will be real busy and making up for the time we lose during the week!!

Friday, I went for a much needed GNO! I got to spend some quality time with my sistacuz, Tiff! Don't know what I would do without that girl!

Saturday, Addie had to work so E and I were on our own for a while. She and I went to the Chocolate Festival (by ourselves). It was somewhat of a task because she didn't want to be in her stroller. So I held her, pushed the stroller and tried to look around, only buying a caramel apple for Ad. Needless to say, we were only there about 20min but it was fun while it lasted ha! Then she and I went to 'What's Cookin'' to grab some lunch (my fav) then took some lunch to a friend of mine who recently had a little baby. Then we went back home for a nap. After Addie got home and we rested up, we all went to Megan and Nicholas' couple's shower. It was a lot of fun and they fed us yummy BBQ! Not to mention, the party was at a beautiful home that was to die for! I kept saying that I was born to live that kind of lifestyle ha! Maybe one day lol! It was perfect weather, too. We sat outside all afternoon by a jacuzzi that overflowed into a pool and a lit fire! It really felt like fall :) Loved it!

Sunday, I went to Church solo because E was sleeping and Adam hadn't showered yet so he stayed behind with her. When I got home mama and papa had stopped by for a quick visit which was nice :) Then we went to pick up some Wifesaver then went to mom and dad's. Us girls (minus a sleeping E) went to TJ Maxx! I am such a Maxxonista :) We all got some cute little things for fall :) Then the whole fam went to Rick's Produce ( a cute little place that has seasonal flowers and veggies). They have pumpkins and mums each fall :) I always dreamed of taking my baby there and this year that dream came true!! It was so fun taking E and she was just in awe of all the orange! Then we went to Marble Slab to have icecream for supper! Even though E didn't have icecream, I think it will be fun to once in a while let her have icecream for supper. Come on, you have to live a little!!

We had E's 6 month pictures taken last month and I think they turned out so good! I am just in love with them. Crissy Callan, who is a good family friend, has taken all of E's pictures and she does such a nice job! Ella Jae loves her and she is so accomodating and sweet! Aren't they just precious? We love love love this pretty princess :)

Double ear infection

Sorry for the lack of posts, our life has been nothing short of eventful lately. E has had a double ear infection since last Monday. We first tried Amoxicillin then some ear drops to help with pain. When that didn't work, we tried Cefdinir which isn't working so we are back to the doctor tomorrow for another antibiotic that will hopefully work this time. Poor little E! She sleeps well at night (only if I get to sleep while holding her upright) and is starting to nap better throughout the day, but she just isn't herself. She doesn't stay content long and pulls at her little ears and makes them red :( She doesn't really cry, just kind of complains. Bless her little heart, she still laughs and smiles and plays! I pray we can find the right medication to heal her little ears quickly.

Little miss Ella Jae has had a 3rd day of happiness while in her carseat! Typically after 2.5 seconds of being in the carseat while in the car she gets angry and screams and cries. I had to plan going any place around her eating schedule almost just so I could give her a bottle in the car so she wouldn't scream and cry. Fortunately, the past few days she has somewhat entertained herself with various toys. I make sure I have a stash in the front seat so if she throws or drops something I can toss her something else to keep her occupied. And then there is always the animal noises that I make that she thinks are pretty funny and keeps her entertained ha! She is truly a joy and I am so thankful for her! So is growing too fast for my liking! She is just getting to be such a big girl with her crawling and most recently, pulling up. She completely pull herself to standing on Tuesday. She has here and there pull herself to her knees in her crib by pulling on the bumper, but she finally did it on Tuesday. She can stand on her own and hold something...too cute!

Our Weekend

It seems that we have had something planned every weekend for months and the plans just keep coming ha! We have something to every weekend until the end of October! I like plans and we have fun plans made, but it makes the weekend go by much faster and I am just not a fan of the weekend ending so quickly! But this weekend, Adam's grandparents we still in town from Ella Jae's Baby Dedication so we spent time with them Friday night.

Then Saturday, I went for my best friends bachelorette day in Columbia. We had so much fun! We started the day off with a lingerie shower and brunch then headed to Cola to paint pottery, go to dinner at Za's pizza then ended the night with Eat, Pray, Love. It was such a nice day to be with the girls and just have good ole quality "girl-time!" I did miss my boo-boo, but mommy-me-time is needed every once in a while!! I have the best friends a girl could ask for! All of us are finally at a point where we are getting married and having babies so it is funny to see how our conversations and "girl talk" has evolved over the past few years from dating and break ups and sorority chats to marriage, babies, house decor...haha! I love it!

Sunday, we didn't go to Church because Ella Jae took a 2.5 hr nap and I hated to wake her because she has been recovering from a sinus infection. Adam and I were all ready but just let her sleep. So Ad picked us up some Dunkin and he watched sports while I surfed the net for E some cute Halloween outfits :) It was really nice and relaxing. Sundays seemed kind of rushed sometimes because it's like...get up, get breakfast, get E fed and washed and dressed, get us dressed, and off to Church we go-usually running behind. So this Sunday morning was relaxing compared to most! After E got up about 11:40, we went to Grandma's to eat lunch! Then we cam back to the house to get ready and let E nap before her 6 month photo shoot with Crissy Callan :) Crissy is really great and takes the cutest pics of our family. She has become like family and we really appreciate her! E did so good during the photo shoot!! I was really surprised. Fortunately, it wasn't 900 degrees outside, maybe 80's so it was some what of a relief! I cannot wait to see the pictures that Crissy captured! I know I will be pleasantly surprised, as always!!

Now it is back to the weekly grind...

Baby Dedication

We dedicated Ella Jae this morning at Church! It was so special! All of our closest family and friends came to share this special day with us. There was slide slow before the dedication featuring each family and it was the sweetest thing! Afterwards, we had everyone at our house for chicken salad sandwiches, pasta salad, chip and dip and cake :) Everyone was so thoughtful and bought E the sweetest little gifts. We are so blessed!

Our weekend hasn't really been beginning until Saturday because I don't usually get home until around 7pm on Fridays :( Adam has been picking up supper for us, usually Subway. We eat, feed E, put her to sleep then try to watch a movie together, but usually I don't make the movie ha! This friday was no different. Saturday, Addie worked. E and I hung out at the house until Daddy got home. I cleaned. Adam watched E while I rested some. Then we got ready for a HOT date. But didn't go as planned. Adam's parent were going to keep E while we went out but Dad has been struggling with kidney stones. Not fun! And bless his heart, Mom had to take him to the ER on Saturday night. But we had a nice family dinner at the BBQ Barn instead of going on our HOT date :) It was such a nice dinner, E cooperated and the food was yummy! We've decided that buffets are the way to go. There is no wait time to be seated or a wait to get your food. You are in and out in a hurry so there is minimal time for E to have a meltdown ha!

Sunday was Mom's birthday! Happy Birthday, Mom!! I am super blessed with a wonderful MIL who is a great friend, shopping partner, advice giver, shoulder to cry, babysitter and my partner in 'dumb and dumber plumbing' (inside joke)! I went to Church early for the Baby Dedication meeting. We didn't make it back to Church because E was sleeping and she hasn't been sleeping well :( So we let her sleep then we went to Grandma's for lunch which was super great because Tiff, Chris and the boys came :) Then we went to Mom and Dad's for her bday party. We had pizza and icecream cake. It was a great day! Everyone kind of snuck out early so it was a nice restful day!!

Today is mine and Ad's 3rd wedding anniversary! It feels like we have been married for much longer (but in a good way)! Our relationship has really evolved in these last 3 years. We've gone from honeymooners living on cloud nine to living a life that we always dreamed of. We have a marriage that I am so proud of. It isn't always rainbows and butterflies, but we work on it because we have 'a love worth fighting for.' Adam is a great man. He is truly a man among men. He has so many wonderful qualities that make him so special. Sometimes it is easier to focus on what someone is not rather than focus on all that they are. God showed me that last night. I have learned recently that it is important that we still make time for us now that we have a little one, which is what we plan to do tonight. Adam has something planned for us tonight and I am so excited! We also have a cruise planned at the end of September to celebrate our 3 years of marriage!

Happy Anniversary, Addie! I love you more and more with each passing day. Thank you for loving me when I least deserve it! I look forward to our future together!

Struggles and a blessing

So I know I have been MIA lately mostly because I have little free time in between working and being mommy and wifey. I have had a lot of things on my mind lately and been struggling with some things. Last night, I had a little breakdown. I guess everything just kind of came to a head and I just had to let it all out. Thank God I have the husband I do! He is such a blessing! God knew I needed him in my life. Through all the tears and the mumbling I was doing, he said "Amber, pray with me." My husband sat with me on the bathroom floor and prayed with me. He prayed the sweetest pray. One that I will never forget! All my worries went away in that moment because all I could focus on was the man that God blessed me with and how grateful I was that he is strong enough to be there for me. Thank you Jesus for the blessing of marriage!

Adam and I are going on a Royal Caribbean cruise for our 3rd Anniversary! I am so excited and cannot wait for this trip! We were planning on Jamaica but with the price of passports and when we found out we could take a cruise for half the price, our minds were easily changed. We still have to purchase the passport to go by boat or land but it is way cheaper than the other! We may even go with my sistacuz, which would be super fun. We went on a cruise for our honeymoon and it was awesome, but we said if we did a cruise again we would want it to be atleast with one other couple. So hopefully they will come, too. I am super excited! A cruise is always the best way to go. Although I do want to do an all inclusive resort sometime in the future...Hawaii, maybe?!?!? So for now, I will continue to get excited about our Bahama Mama cruise :)

Ella Jae got in the crawl position today! She has been scooting since she was weeks old and rolling over contantly, but crawling at 4 1/2 months...oh my! It looks like I am going to have to start baby proofing the house sooner than I thought. My Mama captured the moment with her camera and emailed it to my phone so it is a bit grainy but...priceless!! I cried ofcourse! Hopefully I will be there when she actually has success on all fours!

Ok, so I feel extremely guilty in many areas of my life right now and blogging is one of those areas. I have been extremely busy with work and I hate to say it but when I get home from picking E up, fixing dinner, cleaning up dinner, getting E fed and down to sleep, I am exhausted and barely have time to catch up on the blogs that I love so much. Sometimes I skip getting on the cp at all at night. It is sad. I even barely have time to take pictures of E much less download them to the cp then onto the blog or to FB. How do working mothers do it? Slowly with time I guess I will find how to manage it all but right now I am finding it quite difficult. The days seem to run together and fly by.

E is growing so fast and doing so many new things that it seems to be a daily thing and I just can't keep up. I am trying my hardest to document it all. She is loving chewing on her teethers and toes right now :)

I celebrated my 25th birthday on July 5! This year was extra special because I got to spend my birthday with my precious girl and because my husband gave me a week full of gifts aka "Amberkuh!" It was a wonderful week filled with lots of my favorite things and things that I wanted for so long. Needless to say I have the best husband, EVER! I am truly blessed!! We ended the week with a bang during a Fourth of July bash and birthday celebration all rolled into one. Many many years I have celebrated both on the same which is totally good with me because I get to do many things I love all in one day. I typically celebrate my birthday at the beach but this year was a little different, a good different. We celebrated it by the pool instead at my in-laws. It was a great day!

Thursday-
I didn't to work because Ella Jae had a stomach bug. So went to the doc. Poor thing she is going to hate going to the doctor. It is never a pleasant experience when we go. That afternoon, I went to see ECLIPSE with the girls! We had such a fun time! I laugh like crazy with these girls!! They are the best! We went to the movies, Starbucks and then to Krispey Kreme...definitely enjoyed myself a little too much :)

Doc visit and cereal

Today Ella Jae and I made a visit to the PEDS office. She has had a stuffy nose, not sleeping well or eating the greatest. She is fine, just a little congestion. Since she will be 4 mths this Sunday (omg...where is the time going??), the doc to go ahead and feed her cereal to see if that will help with her sleep habits some. So we tried it! She didn't know what to think! I sat her in her Bumbo seat and fed her with a spoon. She would kind of taste it a little and spit it out ha! It was the cutest! Then she started to get a little fussy, guess she wasn't getting her belly full fast enough so I put it in a bottle and she sucked it down. Then I gave her formula. She went out like a light. I hoping that she will sleep well tonight. I am pretty much running on empty, Adam too. I am still a little unsure of whether to continue to try to feed her the cereal by spoon or bottle...how do I prepare it for daycare...seriously, I can only feed her 4x a day...tomorrow should be interesting ha! We will just worry about that in the a.m. It is sleepytown for Mommy!!

Today marks Adam's first Father's Day! I am blesssed to have a wonderful husband and I always knew he would be a wonderful Daddy! Not only has he met that expectation, he has surpassed it. I could not have hand picked a better Daddy for Ella Jae. He loves his girls, and we love him more than words!

Ella Jae,
Do you know that you are a Daddy's girl already? Probably not, but you are. Your face lights up when you see your Daddy. You talk to him more than anyone else. I wonder if you can feel his love for you. He loves you so much. So much that sometimes I want to cry when I see him with you. You have the best Daddy, Ella Jae. He is so active in your little life already. He wants to be a part of everything I do with you and wants to learn all the things that sometimes only a Mommy knows. He is always eager to say, "Am, I'll get her." He gets up with you in the middle of the night. On your first doctor's appointment, he took complete control and I just sat in a chair while he undressed you and calmed you. He changes diapers, dirty ones and everything. He makes bottles and feeds you. He dances with you and does little workouts with you (we have videos of both, please ask to see them someday). He even sings to you on occassion, and your Daddy is no singer. I want to tell you a little bit about the man your Daddy is. He is a man of his word. He never says anything he doesn't mean. He is a man of virtue, he always does the right thing. He is honest. He never misses a bay of work, even when he is sick he still works. He is ambitious and so hard working, almost to a fault. He is always thinking about the future and how to make it better, sometimes forgetting to live in the 'now.' He is funny. He makes me laugh so hard sometimes that it makes my belly hurt. He is kind and everyone wants to be his friend. He is humble, he doesn't care what others think. He is a good person. You are going to learn so much from him. You are probably going to be like him in many ways. I tease him and say that because you look like him, you will act like me but the truth is you are already like him in some ways. You are scared easily like him, you don't like loud noises, you get angry when you are tired or hungry, you fidgit and can't be still very long, you like to watch t.v., you are serious most of the time but you can also make us laugh. I am excited to learn more ways that you are like him as you grow. I pray that you get the best qualities of each of us. I pray for your relationship with your Daddy. I know that you will always hold a special place in his heart. You are his 'cous-cous.' We are blessed to have a 'man among men' in our life, E. Your Daddy is one of a kind. He loves his girls. I know that he will always be there to love you and guide you in ways that only a Daddy can. I know that he will continue to surpass all my expections of what a Daddy should be. You are the luckiest little girl in the world, boo boo. And the best part, I get to share your Daddy with you. And that makes Momma a lucky girl, too.

Weekend visit from friends

Last weekend our sweet friends from MA paid us a visit! We enjoyed having them so much. We had not seen them since their wedding last September so we were so excited to see them and for them to meet Miss Ella Jae! They are the sweetest couple and the best friends two people could ask for. I mean, how often is it that two couples totally mesh? Well, we are those couples!! We couldn't be more blessed for their friendship. We have a great weekend together enjoying food, late night chats, a baseball game, Church, Sunday dinner and some pool time.

Beach Weekends

We went to Hilton Head Island Memorial Weekend and the following weekend! We really just relaxed the first visit. We really enjoyed the long weekend. We did not take Ella Jae to the ocean. But we did on the second visit. Adam and I just stayed over night with his family. It was a whole family affair. We really wanted to make sure Ella Jae got to experience the ocean that trip. She loved it, too!! We didn't put in the actual waves, just in a little pool of water that had gathered on the sand. I think she thought she was having bath time because the water was so warm ha! Bless her little heart though because she could barely keep her eyes open because it was so bright. All babies are sensitive to light but I think E is ultra sensitive because Adam is to. I call him 'squinty!' I guess I will have two squinties on my hands :) I cannot wait to take her again to the ocean. Adam and I don't really have much vacation time so we will just have to sneak in little visits when we can. If it were left up to me, we would go every weekend :) I am excited for next year because E will be running all over the beach and having her little self a good ole time which will be so fun to see!! It was pretty neat she her little tootsies in the sand this year, too!!

Memorial weekend and recipe

For the long Memorial weekend, we went to Hilton Head Island! It was so great getting away for the long weekend! Friday, we arrived late because we drove up after we got off work. E did pretty well on the car trip, I was pleasantly surprised! She would just get a little fussy when she lost her paci but never had a meltdown so that was great! Saturday was a pretty lazy day. E didn't sleep well and I was up with her 2x during the night being in a new place, I guess, and she has had a stuffy nose. We grabbed lunch at our favorite Italian place on the island and came back only to get ready to go to dinner and Coligny Plaza! We ate at Bonefish Grill and walked around Coligny, had custard, and listened to a guy sing and play the guitar there. It was fun and E did SOOOO good while we were out!! Sunday, we got more sleep and woke up rested. Me and mom went to the outlets while the guys stayed with a sleeping baby. We were able to get some shopping in all while she slept and made it back in time for some yummy wraps. We took E for a walk around the campground then came back to get ready for dinner and Seapines. We ate supper at Mellow Mushroon and took a ride to Seapines to walk around and enjoy live music. Adam definitely came within centimeters from backing my NEW SUV into a tree. It was so packed at HH that we had to squeeze in where ever we could and when he realized that we couldn't squeeze into a particular place, he began to back up and I just happened to turn around and saw the giant pinetree he was about to hit! I yelled "STOP, THERE'S A TREEEEEEEEEE!!!" It was more like a screach than a yell!! I think I scared everyone except E. She was too busy knawing on her little fists to care about my screaching haha! Ahhh, praise the Lord he didn't hit it! I would have beat him over the head with that tree hahaha!! We had a great time after laughing so hard it hurt about the incident lol! Monday, was a sad day because we left. Mom and I got up early and headed to the Fresh Market to get some yummy pastries and fruit. We packed and enjoyed the outside before heading back. We had a super fun weekend and I look forward to many more HH trips this summer...we will be headed back this coming weekend!! What can I say?...It is our happy place :)

I also wanted to share a yum, quick summer recipe that would be great for the grill:

Honey Balsamic Glazed Chicken and Asparagus

Ingredients: 4 chicken breasts, 1 cup balsamic vinegar, 1 Tbsp honey, 2 Tbsp butter, 2 Tbsp olive oil, 1 bunch asparagus

Preparations: Simmer vinegar until it has reduced by two-thirds. Add honey, stir until thoroughly mixed. Then add butter, stir until dissolved.

Brush chicken and asparagus with prepared glaze, reserving some glaze. Grill chicken and asparagus using a stove top griddle or outdoor grill. Cook 4-5 minutes. Serve chicken and asparagus, then drizzle with remaining glaze.

Date Night on a Tuesday

Last night, Adam and I went to a Greenjackets Baseball game. The Greenjackets is our local baseball team. It is actually used to be a farmteam of the Boston Redsox (Ad's favorite), but now I think it is like Pittsburg or something. Anyways, the baseball game was also a mingle type deal for Enterprise employees, where Ad works. It was really fun! We met his co-worker Graydon, his wife, Rebecca and their little boy, Bradley. We all went together and enjoyed grilled hotdogs and hamburgers, watermelon and cotton candy!! It was such a beautiful night, too! We didn't do much game watching, but we enjoy chatting and laughing with his coworkers!! I also found out that Adam is 2nd in car leads for his district!! And the guy ahead of him only has him by like 3 cars!!! I am so proud of him especially with him being the 'new guy on the block!' We left E with Mom and Dad. We figured it might be too much for her but I cannot wait to take her and do fun things like baseball games, carnivals and parks......so fun!! I even made a friend! His name was Charlie and he was probably abou 3 years old...super cute!! He made me excited to have a little boy one day..............ONE DAY!!! Haha!
